Sylwia is a fashion designer, a qualified Doctor of Fine Arts specialising in design, a university professor, a lecturer at the Institute of Fashion at the Strzeminski Academy of Art in Łódź, Head of the Fashion Design Studio at the oldest art and design university in Poland for training fashion designers.

Sylwia is a promoter and reviewer of bachelor's and master's theses and doctoral dissertations. She also organizes exhibitions, fashion shows, scientific conferences, and art and humanistic projects in Poland and abroad. During many years of cooperation with the fashion industry, she has implemented dozens of clothing collections. In 2011, she was the curator of the international project NOT FASHION ALONE - Contemporary Fashion from Central Europe, which was jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria and the Central Europe Cultural Platform.

From 2012 to 2016 Sylwia was the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Textile & Clothing at the Strzeminski Academy of Art in Łódź. Sylwia promoted the first honorary doctorate in fashion in the history of Poland. It was first awarded to Junko Koshino, a Japanese designer, in the Faculty of Textile and Fashion.
